Shareholder Dan Block Named to NFIB/Colorado Leadership Council

DENVER, March 20, 2019– — The Colorado Director of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), Colorado’s leading small-business association with approximately 7,000 members, has appointed attorney Dan Block, a shareholder of Robinson Waters & O’Dorisio, P.C., to its state Leadership Council.

As a member of the NFIB’s 23-member Colorado Leadership Council, Block will participate in developing the association’s statewide agenda, help steer the organization’s advocacy program and assist in efforts to bring small-business issues to the attention of state and federal elected officials.

Serving on the council is a natural extension of Block’s long-standing input into public policy affecting business in Colorado.  He has addressed public policy previously as a member of the Labor and Employment Council and Federal Affairs Council of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce (CCC), formerly known as the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry.  On behalf of the CCC, he has negotiated and drafted amendments to bills pending in the Colorado legislature and he has testified at Colorado legislature committee hearings concerning pending legislation.  Independently or as a member of stakeholders’ groups, Block has also provided input to divisions of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, resulting in changes to the Colorado Administrative Rules.  In the past, he has provided information to the NFIB on both legislation and administrative rules, as well.

A former state securities examiner and in-house counsel, Block has been practicing law for over 25 years and now focuses on business transactions (including commercial real estate transactions), employment law, franchising and intellectual property.
